The Transportation Prescription: How bold transportation policies can make all communities healthier and stronger

A report by PolicyLink and Prevention Institute, commissioned by the Convergence Partnership, is a policy guide that analyzes the intersection of transportation, health and equity, providing key policy and program recommendations that can improve health outcomes in vulnerable communities, create economic opportunity, and enhance environmental quality. This report also features a foreword by Rep. Jim Oberstar, Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and one of the primary authors of the upcoming federal transportation bill.

Prevention Institute prepared this report for the Institute of Medicine’s Roundtable on Health Disparities to address solutions at the community, regional and state level to reduce inequities in health and safety.  Recommendations in conjunction with successful examples of implementation are made in four key areas including community recommendations, health care recommendations, systems recommendations and overarching recommendations.

UNITY RoadMap: A Framework for Effectiveness and Sustainability

The UNITY RaodMap is a resource for cities to prevent violence before it occurs by mapping out solutions to effectively and sustainably prevent violence.
